Apostille: what is it placed on?

What is an apostille placed on? A 30-second video

Video transcript

An apostille confirms to a foreign country that an Israeli document is genuine. It can be placed on the original document, or on the notarial certificate, for example on a translation. Sometimes both are needed. The authority abroad decides, so check with it before you begin.

The full explanation: Apostille on documents for use abroad. The page explains when the apostille is issued at the Magistrates' Court and when at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, what the fee is for 2026, and the order to follow when you need both an apostille and a certified notarial translation.
